THE MARKET
Irrigation has become a necessity for many residential and commercial projects.
In the residential sector, we target
homes ranging from $200,000 up to $2 million. We have installed a front yard
system for a trailer owner in a trailer park along with the million dollar
estate where irrigation represents a very small capital expense when compared
to hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of landscaping.
We have even installed an irrigation system for Goldie Shawn and Kurt
Russell at their cottage in the Musk district, a $10,000 irrigation project. We have installed over 4000 residential systems.
Residential Jobs range from $ 1500 to $5000 in value.
The commercial sector continues to surprise with growing demand for irrigated lawns and gardens. Home Depot, McDonald's and Wendy's restaurants to name a few, all have irrigation systems. We have installed close to 1000 commercial systems. The commercial sector continues to be a leading area for growth. Many of these commercial projects will be tendered by the General Contractors at the time of construction.
Commercial Jobs range from $5,000 to $50,000 in value.
TRAINING
Our experienced team of installers will train you on all aspects of irrigation including:
Estimating, Design and Installation.
16 hours of Classroom training is required along with 24 hours on the job.

Your business operates as a partnership with our Head Office. NJlawn
Irrigation will administer the "800" number which is advertised along
with your local business number in the directory. We are open for business right now !!! operating as the central answering
service, dealing with customer requests for service and estimates which are then
e-mailed directly to the franchisee. Our Head Office is your
We provide all of your office forms and advertising supplies at no cost each year. We will negotiate the lowest possible pricing from wholesalers for the irrigation equipment. We work with you each and every day helping to grow your business and field support is available by request with advance notice. Telephone and fax support is available 24/7 year round.
WHOLESALE SUPPLIES
No other irrigation company can compete with the discount levels
available to you as a Franchise of NJlawn Irrigation. You will pay on average 20 percent less for
the same products that your competitor is using. We deal directly with the manufacturers for
all brands located in the

The Plow is called a "pipe puller" or "irrigation plow"
sometimes referred to as a trencher.

Leasing Packages are available for the purchase of the machine and trailer
together from our supplier.
VEHICLE
You can lease or purchase of a new White Van or Pick-up Truck. We expect all
vehicles to be custom lettered with the "Greenland Irrigation" logo
and telephone number.
FEES AND ROYALTIES
Royalties are paid to
8% on gross revenue

Flat rate; $14,000 per season
Extras
$ 300 annual payment for answering service
$ plus any costs to purchase uniforms i.e. golf shirts, t-shirts etc.
PROFITABILITY
The first year of operations is the most demanding. It will take time to learn
the business, train your crew and get comfortable with the installation process.
A very conservative projection for your first year sales would be as follows:
A. Residential Sales : on average each residential
sprinkler system sells for $2500. The typical job takes 2 days to install.
You should target your residential sales to be 40 jobs in the first year of
operations.
$100,000 Revenue over 80 work days.
B. Commercial work: on average will sell for $7500 per job and take 5 days to install. Expect to install 3 commercial jobs your first season.
$ 22,500 Revenue over 15 work days
C. Service Revenue: will grow each season as your customer base expands. The typical service call billings range from $50 to $200 for 1 hour/2 hours of work.
** A more aggressive plan would call for 60 residential installs = $150,000
and 5 commercial installs = $37,500
Total revenue $ 187,500.
SERVICE
People are constantly making changes to their landscape, adding shrubs, installing pools, fences and decks. There is constant demand to move and repair sprinklers. By your third year of operations your margin of profit will increase as your service base grows. The goal is to install as many jobs as possible each season and to grow your service base as quickly as possible. Once you have reached a 300 customer base, you will be well on your way to healthy income and an ongoing retirement plan which generates income each and every season.
